It took me two tries, but I've just successfully passed CompTIA's Network+ N10-006 exam. I spent an average of one hour per day studying for the past two months. I failed with a 680/720 three weeks ago, and just came back and received a 753/720. Below you will find tips from me to you in regards to what you should know before taking the exam.
There are quite a few questions that are a very tricky. The question will ask you for the best answer, but more than one answer will be viable. That said, I found that I was able to disqualify two answers from almost all the multiple choice questions, leaving me with at least a 50/50 chance in cases where I wasn't sure but at least understood the acronyms. It is imperative that you evaluate the exam objectives and read into anything you don't know off the top of your head. In my experience, this exam is more difficult than I anticipated. You may want to purchase the package that comes with two vouchers and CompTIA CertMaster so that you save money in the event that you don't pass your first time. As far as study material goes, using the exam objectives document to identify what I'm not comfortable with and then watching a corresponding Professor Messer video was my primary means of studying. I also read through the Mike Myers book, but got less out of it. I also completed around 650 practice questions, none of which were actually on the exam but made me confront concepts that I wasn't comfortable enough with.
